100 Deviations!

Wed Jun 11, 2008, 6:22 PM
I think I'm supposed to celebrate or something...

For those interested in the latest 7 deviations, I will be uploading higher quality versions of them soon. I made the mistake of accidentally saving them in low resolutions. ARGH. Thanks for checking out the photos. Let me know what you think.

Change of Pace

Sat Feb 16, 2008, 3:36 PM
I've been a little more active lately with my submissions and it got me to thinking... As much as I enjoy my new photos, I still miss the good old days in the studio, photographing people and photoshopping images. I've been in Iraq five months now, and my old favorites aren't available to me now. I don't think that I've changed my focus so much, as I've adapted to what's here for me now. I'm enjoying the change of pace, yes... but I guess there's something to be said for being able to work in your comfort zone. On the bright side, I am daily challenged to photograph new things for me and so I think it is helping my overall experience as a photographer. I remember the days when the simple thought of shooting a landscape made me quake in my knees. For one, I never thought it was as interesting as shooting people, and for two, I had never been very good at it to begin with. I'm going to count this experience as a good thing. I won't be able to go back to the good old days for some time now, so I might as well get comfortable with what I have. I'm fairly proud of my latest batch. I haven't gotten rave reviews on any of it. However, I am content and feel that I've submitted only the best of what I have to offer now. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do.

FYI: Deviation Sizes

Thu Dec 14, 2006, 9:30 AM
Most of my photos here on deviantART are much larger than they are presented. I've attempted to keep them to a proper size so as to fit better in the average screen. Even on full-view in some cases, you still aren't seeing the full detail of the image.

All in all, what I mean to say is that if you've found yourself infatuated with a certain photo of mine and would like a closer view, attempt to download the image and you may find that there is a larger photo there than the one you're being shown.

Thanks a lot for your interest and stay posted! There's still more to come!

What Causes Pageview Spikes Like This?

Thu Nov 30, 2006, 9:46 AM
I've been trying to pay more attention to my pageviews and statistics and such. Mostly it's out of curiousity, but some of it is research as to how people respond to certain things.

Anyhow, I've noticed a strange oddity. This has happened twice to me in two separate months. I've had single days where my pageviews go from their normal 0-5, all the way into the thousands!

It'd be nice to think that it was actually generated interest, but one of the spikes hit in a month that I hadn't even made any submissions. I was wondering if this was a bug in the system perhaps... or maybe some kind of random image search that kept people accidentally hitting my page...

If you have any idea what this might be about, drop me a line. I'm curious.

If the image here is too small for you to read, the full size one is at [link]

Finally New Deviations...

Sun Nov 26, 2006, 6:15 PM
Six months ago I posted that I would be updating my page. Little did I know how busy things would get... and stay. Either way, I've finally added some pictures to the site and I have an entire folder of them to be added as well.

I've realized after looking through my pictures that I've got a rather eclectic collection of photos. I hope this doesn't scare away any watchers who have grown fond of a certain style of mine. Anyhow, new files are up and more to come. Thank you to everyone who has commented on and favorited my deviations while I was going through some down time. I appreciate the kind words and the attention!
